3P Learning, the global leader in online mathematics learning for school-aged students, has announced the inaugural Four Nations Maths Challenge, a free competition that will see students getting involved in a huge online UK maths spectacular!

 

As the official lead up event to the World Education Games 2012, every school in the UK is invited to take part in a celebration of numbers on 17 – 18 November 2011 as students from across all four nations unite in their quest to reach the top of the leader board by answering thousands of maths questions.

This free, safe, engaging and exciting competition is all about having fun with maths and is an ideal way to inspire students to enjoy maths and challenge themselves and others. Students will take part in real-time maths challenges using the online program, Mathletics and a live Hall of Fame will keep students and schools updated with who is in the lead throughout. Schools will be provided with free access to the award-winning Mathletics website for the duration of the challenge – all that is required is internet access!

 

 

Students can participate in the challenge at home as well as in school and, as competition activities are aligned to the UK curriculum, the Four Nations Maths Challenge will reinforce concepts taught in class. There will be prizes awarded to the top school, class and individual across the four nations, and the top performing student from each of the four nations will receive the honour of being invited to represent their country as a World Maths Day Ambassador.

 

 

The challenge opens for practice on 7 November 2011 until the official start of the competition on Thursday 17 November 2011. The challenge ends at midnight on Friday 18th November 2011.
