With the arrival of a brand new feature called ‘The FYI’ to its website, BrainPOP UK is looking for you to get involved with its promotion and is offering one lucky school the chance to win a subscription to BrainPOP UK in return. BrainPOP UK, which contains hundreds of animated explanations and interactive quizzes for children aged 7 – 14, announced the arrival of The FYI as extension material to the existing BrainPOP UK movies. The FYIs will contain astonishing facts, figures and information, and soon every movie will have its very own FYI.
To celebrate the introduction of The FYI, BrainPOP UK is putting together a short viral movie that they want YOU to star in. The movie, entitled ‘How many ways are there to say “For Your Information?”’ will feature various people saying for “For Your Information” in different, creative and unusual ways. You can say it, shout it, whisper it, sing it, sign it and anything else in between. You can write it in alphabetti spaghetti or on a blackboard, and be as straightforward or innovative as you like.
The final edited version of the movie will include as many submissions as possible and will be added to YouTube as an embeddable, shareable movie. The best “For Your Information” will win a six-month subscription to BrainPOP UK.
Chris Bradford, Chief Operating Officer at BrainPOP UK, says:
‘BrainPOP UK is committed to delivering the most engaging digital resources for kids. From mid-September, every movie will have an accompanying FYI – a set of interesting facts, stories, extension activities, histories, data & graphs and even comics!
FYIs are designed to be used to further explore the main subject examined in the movie. For example did you know the surface of the Sun is almost 6000 degrees Celsius but that’s still not as hot a lightning bolt? Strange but true!
We think this is the first time an educational publisher has crowd sourced a viral movie and we think it will be lots of fun. It’s the BrainPOP way and Tim, Moby & the BrainPOP UK team cannot wait to see what you can come up with!’
The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Thursday 9 September and the movie will premiere on 13 September alongside the FYIs. For more information and to submit an entry, click here to visit the BrainPOP UK POPtalk blog.
